The 420’s are going from strength to strength – in December 4 new boats were built, 3 for SAS to go to Durban so that they now have a fleet of 5 boats there, and another lease boat for ZVYC. Right now another 2 boats are being built for Dave Hudson’s Race Ahead program making a total of 31 boats built!

We anticipate having a minimum turnout of 23 boats for the Nationals and maybe more if some of the Durban boats come down! Please get your entries in right away.

We will also need bridge and rescue crew for the event so please let me know if you or your family members would like to volunteer to help out. Also, if anyone would like to sponsor some prizes it would be great!

I am running 420 coaching in Simon’s town on these dates.

The Saturdays we start at two and the Sundays we start at nine in the morning.

Please have a look at the dates and let me know if you are keen to join us on these dates or at least some of the time. The training is to help the youth worlds team but it will definitely benefit everybody else who gets involved, especially if they are keen to go next year to the youth world Championships.

The 420 Nationals will be held at ZVYC 25 – 27 April 2009 in conjunction with the Extra Nationals. Please get your entries in ASAP.

If you are not a paid up Member of the Class Association please include your Class Association Membership fees of R150. For those hiring club boats for just this event, the Class Association has decided to subsidize Class Association fees by R75.00.

Please can you ALL try to get some prizes donated for the event?

All sails will be measured on Saturday 25 April 2009 from 9 a.m.; please ensure that you allow enough time for this to be done before racing starts at 14h.00.

If you are not going to sail your boat and would be willing to hire it out, please let me know as there are a number of people looking to charter boats.
