The 420’s are going from strength to strength – in December 4 new boats were built, 3 for SAS to go to Durban so that they now have a fleet of 5 boats there, and another lease boat for ZVYC. Right now another 2 boats are being built for Dave Hudson’s Race Ahead program making a total of 31 boats built!
We anticipate having a minimum turnout of 23 boats for the Nationals and maybe more if some of the Durban boats come down! Please get your entries in right away.
We will also need bridge and rescue crew for the event so please let me know if you or your family members would like to volunteer to help out. Also, if anyone would like to sponsor some prizes it would be great!
See you on the water!

The 420 Nationals will be held at ZVYC 25 – 27 April 2009 in conjunction with the Extra Nationals. Please get your entries in ASAP.
If you are not a paid up Member of the Class Association please include your Class Association Membership fees of R150. For those hiring club boats for just this event, the Class Association has decided to subsidize Class Association fees by R75.00.
Please can you ALL try to get some prizes donated for the event?
All sails will be measured on Saturday 25 April 2009 from 9 a.m.; please ensure that you allow enough time for this to be done before racing starts at 14h.00.
If you are not going to sail your boat and would be willing to hire it out, please let me know as there are a number of people looking to charter boats.
Attached is the Class Association Constitution and Bye-Laws which must be strictly adhered to.

No Comments Get on pace for the Western Cape Dinghy Champs!
All Youth Sailors are invited to this special training clinic designed to prepare Optimist sailors for their Selections Regatta, Lasers, 420s and Hobie 16s for their Youth Worlds selection regattas, 420 sailors for their Nationals and all other sailors for the Western Cape Dinghy Champs.
Venue: Langebaan Yacht Club
Date: 09h00 Saturday 21st March – 17h00 Sunday 22nd March 2009
Classes: Optimists, Dabchicks, Lasers (4.7, Radial, Full rig), 420s, Hobie 16s and Dragoons
Cost per sailor: R200 (includes all meals and coaching)
